About Our Organization
SunMary Trust is a non-profit
organization, founded by Mr. R. Joseph Rajapather and his wife,
Mrs. Chinnarani Joseph. This Trust is dedicated to fight against
disease, hunger, poverty, and illiteracy and bring hope to
children with little or no hope.
The trust is supporting various
causes within its local community such as:

Supporting destitute women to
acquire skills in trade, and generate income to support
their children.

Support poor, orphan or disabled
children for education and room and board.

Develop AIDS awareness programs
and support children suffering from AIDS.

Support children suffering from
natural disasters such as tsunami, earthquakes, cyclone etc.

Support children affected by
leprosy.
Founded in 2005, the Trust is led by
Joseph Family and seven members of a board of trustees. None of
them receives salary from the Trust. All work is done completely
by volunteers, minimizing costs and overhead.
The trust was
established in loving memory of Mary Nimmi and Paul Sundara
Rajan the youngest daughter and son-in-law of the founders. Paul
Sundara Rajan, 37, along with his wife Mary Nimmi, 31, of
Tirunelveli, India passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2004, in an
automobile accident in southern India. Nimmi was a loving and
devoted wife and mother, as well as a beloved daughter and
sister. She was a favorite of 9 nieces and nephews, youngest in
a family of nine children and a wonderful daughter-in-law. She
was a loyal and caring friend to many, as well as an active
member of her community. Among others, surviving are her two
young beloved children Rohith Paul and Reshma Joslin.

Societies Act of Tamilnadu Govt. No.15/2005 dated 7-4-2005 and is permitted to collect foreign contributions under FCRA No.076030349 dated 31-8-2010 granted by the Finance Department of the Government of India.)
Besides 4 Executive Committee meetings annually Sunmary Trust celebrates the Anniversary of the Trust every year on 7th April from its very inception in 2005. The Chief Executive and Managing Trustee of the Trust Mr. Joseph Rajapatha takes the initiative in conducting the annual day in a special way. Usually all the trustees, the members of the General body, the donors, well wishers and the beneficieries are invited to attend the Annual Day functions on sending printed invitations.
A Very Important Person in the city is invited to preside over the function when the children beneficieries perform cultural activities like singing, dancing, enacting short plays etc. to make the function a grand one. Special gifts are presented to them at that time. Elderly beneficieries are also presented with gifts. The on-lookers used to comment on the various charitable activities and services of the trust at this time. They take this opportunity to propose new obligations and suggestions for imporvement. The Managing Trustee would submit the Annual Report of the Trust along with an Audited Statement of Accounts to the gathering for transparency and mutual understanding. He takes this opportunity to announce new schemes to be introduced in the new year and the names of new beneficieries if any.
Besides the Annual Day, the trust used to celebrate important days of the calender year viz. the New Years Day, Chritmas Day (for Chritians), Deepavali, Pongal (for Hindus) Ramzan (forMuslims), the Independence Day and the Republic Day. These festivals are celeberated in the company of the beneficieries and the local children around with their parents and friends. They are treated with snacks and soft drinks. At the end of the function the Managing Trustee would announce the names of new sponsors and the beneficieries and their whereabouts. He will also make every one present know the various new schemes to be adopted in the following year.
